Are you a HAES aligned therapist or dietitian or an neurodivergent affirming therapist or dietitian?

Thank you for the work you do. It is hard, ever changing and a constant battle with new problems hidden as easy fix solutions. Everyone is doing their best and there is a lack of support for mental health and mental health providers. You are expected to wear 10 hats at once, but you only have spot for one (maybe two if you change your hat post lunch break). I would love to help you in the places you or your clients need support.

Who am I?

  • I’m Kim (waves hello). I am a coach and have been in this space since 2015. I do my own healing work including therapy and other healing modalities. I believe in western and eastern approaches. I do not think coaching is therapy or replaces therapy. I have consultation and supervision to support my own practices and do not hesitate to ask for professional support.

  • My lived experience is that I have recovered from an ED, have multiple chronic illnesses/diabilites, identify as neurodivergent and understand the experiences of therapeutic and medical harm that can happen in these spaces.

  • I have experience running groups for ages 8-18 for non profits as well as my own virtual groups for up to 70 people at a time across age groups (and countries). I excel at facilitating group camaraderie and connection amongst members while helping people feel seen, heard and cared for individually.

  • I’ve lived and worked in the USA, UK and Singapore. My personal and professional experiences help me understand cultural nuance.

Potential collaboration opportunities:

  • Do you need help building or running group programs? With FB moderation?

  • Do you need general admin help (scheduling clients, drafting documents).

  • Do you have a million ideas in your head and need someone (outside of normal therapy/dietitian circles) to tell you what makes sense and doesn’t or what sounds like therapy speak vs. real talk? I’m your person.

  • Have a client that needs individual meal support?

  • I have a background in this global HAES spaces personally and professionally. If it’s admin support, I bring this lens into the work. I prioritize safety and I’m not out here offering therapy, trauma healing, meal plans or anything outside my scope. I talk to people, I hold space, I listen and I few coaching as complimentary not a replacement of therapy or other needed medical care.

  • Do you have a project you need one off help with, but want to make sure the person you are hiring works from a HAES lens?

Why a coach?

  • Due to the nature of coaching, it allows me to be lighthearted, swear heavily and maybe more lovingly confrontational than a traditional therapeutic setting (though I know someone of you reading this are this way too). Maybe I say the things you actual want to say to your client “your mom needs therapy,” but don’t say. (*don’t worry I won’t say this if I shouldn’t - but their mom probably does need therapy.

  • You have clients graduating therapy or they are moving and need a lower level of care or someone to fill in a gap.

  • You are on vacation, medical leave or a client needs extra support during the week in additional to therapy.

My coaching:

  • My ideal clients have been working on their relationship with food for a while but still bump into walls (we are all human) or those very new to understanding intuitive eating.

  • Due to my chronic illnesses and neurotype I also thrive with similar people and deeply understand the nuance of existing and eating when food taste weird in your mouth or what you eat one day is suddenly going to make you gag the next or that apples can make your stomach hurt and not everyone can digest every food. It’s really difficult and a lot of people feel alone with this. I get it and if you have a client struggling with this or needing support, I am here.

  • I work with folks one on one and offer 1x or session packages.

  • I work best with folks needing additional support in their longer term ED recovery journey. I work with folks newer to understanding their relationship with food and are just dipping their toe in. This group may need more support and I am always happy to refer out and am grateful to know people that are great references.

  • I view coaching as a change to reaffirm or practice what is learned in therapy. Maybe that includes meal support or role playing ordering at a restaurant with friends or coming up with tangible actions or simply listening. Whatever a client needs - gentle support or more affirmative action based future planning and strategy.
